US college students typically are ignorant of most injustice because they have the freedom of choice to be concerned for others or for themselves. Unfortunately, we often choose ourselves. This page invites you beyond yourself to learn about injustice and ways it’s being neutralized throughout the world.

In 1998, the United Nations Development Program estimated that it would cost $40 billion to supply clean water, reproductive health services, food, basic health care, and basic education for everyone on earth.

Human Traficking

1,230 women were forced into prostitution today
50% were children

There are more slaves today than were trafficked in four centuries of the trans-Atlantic slave trade.
Of the 600,000 to 800,000 people trafficked across international borders every year, 80% are female and 70% of those females are trafficked for sexual exploitation.
According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, human trafficking generates an estimated $9.5 billion in annual revenue. (State Department’s 2005 Trafficking In Persons Report)
